What's the difference between pigment ink and dye ink?

1. Pigment ink is waterproof, sun resistant, fadeless and non smudging. Prints can be saved for a long time.

Dye inks usually do not have waterproof performance, and their light and sun resistance are relatively poor. Printed works are not suitable for long-term preservation. But pigment ink is different. Dunhuang murals can be preserved for thousands of years because the color component used for painting is mineral. The pigment ink produced in industry is similar to it, except that the pigment particles are smaller, but it is easier to preserve the color for decades.

2. Dye ink is more colorful.

Dye inks are more colorful. If the printed works do not need to be kept for a long time, and will not be used in a humid or sunny environment, then directly use dye ink.
