Which fabrics are suitable for thermal sublimation

Pure cotton fabrics can be sublimated by heat transfer printing.

Heat transfer printing is a general term for technology. Heat sublimation is a branch of this area.

In fact, to put it simply. Heat transfer printing is in actual use. The most important thing is to make clothes. Because heat transfer paper is used. More people call this piece heat transfer printing.

For heat rise. In practice, it is more about making other products besides clothing, such as cups and puzzles. Slate painting and so on. Because the paper used is thermal sublimation paper. That is, more people call this piece sublimation.

Thermal sublimation is actually a printing method. Some disperse dyes with molecular weight less than 300 are used. These dyes are easy to sublimate because of their small molecular weight. The sublimation temperature is 180-200 ℃. Between these temperatures, the polyester fiber is close to its softening point, and the molecular gap is large. It is easy for gaseous dye molecules to enter the molecular gap and become a part of the fiber. This is the theory of thermal sublimation printing.

The procedure is to first print the dye on the special paper, and then transfer the pattern to the polyester cloth by hot pressing at about 200 ℃.

Disperse dye/thermal sublimation printing can only be printed on polyester and some nylon fabrics. It cannot be applied to cellulose fiber cloth.
